The services which we offer fall into distinct categories which are listed below. Please click on the service which is of interest to you. A brief description follows. For more information, you might check the "Hearing Library" link in our main menu, or call us directly to discuss a procedure or service.

Audiometric Evaluations: Adults

We provide basic and comprehensive audiological testing.  This is the starting point for any patient who believes they may have a hearing loss or an internal ear problem.

Hearing Aid Evaluations

At the hearing aid evaluation, Dr. Schachterle will determine which type of hearing aid is best for you and your unique needs, including the style, circuit, and number of hearing aids necessary. Hearing aid options should reflect your needs, budget, lifestyle and activity level, medical conditions, physical characteristics and limitations, cosmetic and style preferences, and financial expectations. Dr. Schachterle offers complete hearing aid consultation and fitting services along with any necessary follow-up.

Hearing Aid: Sales & Service

Hearing Aids - We offer a wide selection of hearing aids from many manufactures, including digital processing and digitally programmable. Hearing aids come in all shapes and styles including in-the-ear, in-the-canal, behind-the-ear and our most popular mini behind-the-ear open-canal hearing aids.  Our hearing aids come with a 2 year loss and damage warranty and a 60 day trial period.

Repairs - We have an in-house technician that can evaluate your hearing aid problems quickly.  Our technician can often fix your hearing aid in-house.  If unable to fix a hearing aid in our office, we send it to the original factory or an allmake repair facility.

Hearing Aid Clean and Check - This service is free to all our current patients.  Just bring your hearing aid by so that we can look it over and make sure everything is working properly.

Pediatric Audiometry

Hearing Associates is equipped to test toddlers through adolescents.

Electronystagmography Testing (ENG)

ENG is a diagnostic evaluation that is invaluable in the assessment of balance disorders. This non-evasive procedure is based on the recording of eye movements known as nystagmus. Electrodes placed on the patient's head records these eye movements during a series of ocular motor and positional tasks.  The results indicate whether equilibrium problems are associtated with the inner ear or the brain.

Tinnitus Diagnostics & Management

Many people experience ringing or other noise in the ear or head. We will evaluate the nature of this noise, make appropriate medical referrals, and discuss possibilities in management, such as tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT).

Hearing Associates strongly recommends the use of Rayovac hearing aid batteries and we carry a supply of #10, #13, #312 and #675 batteries in office at all times.  Stop by or give us a call and we will get them out to you right away.

We also carry many other hearing aids supplies such as filters, cleaning tools, hearing aid dryers, anti-itch cream, eargene and many others.

Swim Molds, Musicians Earplugs, Noise Protection, Earmolds

Swim Molds -  Used to prevent water from entering the ear.  These are great for patients with tubes in their ears, people that are prone to ear infections and those that need custom fit noise plugs.

Musician Plugs - These plugs are specially made to reduce sound by a given amount of decibels (9, 15, or 25dB).  The quality of music is not altered by the plug, the sound is reduced in amplitude. Basically, you can enjoy concerts or playing instruments without the ear piercing sounds that are damaging to the ear.  The user can also hear speech more effectively than if using an earplug that completely plugs the ear canal.  Great for motorcyclists, ATV enthusiasts and anyone who wants to protect their hearing but still hear their environment.

Noise Plugs - Custom fit ear plugs that block out as much sound as possible.

Earmolds -  We can order any type of hearing aid mold.  These typically need to be replaced every 1-2 years.  We can also fit earmolds to listening devices, communication devices, i-pods and bluetooth earpieces.

TV Loop System

Hearing aids that are equipped with a 'T-coil' position can receive transmission directly from your TV with a TV loop system.  Your TV can be set to any volume and you can still hear the TV at your selected volume directly through your hearing aids.  The system is easy to install in one room of your house, or you can have our technician do it for you for a fee.  This system makes it easy to enjoy TV with family and friends that do not have a hearing loss.
